Living Wharves

"Living Wharves" is a program designed to tell the story behind the seafood from Yarmouth & Acadian Shores - home to one of Canada's largest fisheries. Over 40 species of fish are harvested from our shores, and thousands are employed in this industry. Most people have a "fish story" or two to tell, and they want to share it with you.

Join both active and retired fishermen and women at community wharves throughout the region to learn their stories. Hear about storms and working conditions, bravery and skills. You can even try your hand at splicing (braiding) rope and tying knots. It's much harder than it looks, and a lot of fun to try!

Daily demonstrations, between 1:30 and 4:00pm, begin June 20, 2015!
