About YASTA
Tourism activities within Yarmouth & Acadian Shores are managed by the Yarmouth & Acadian Shores Tourism Association (YASTA). This is a non-profit association, comprised of board members and staff.
The mandate of YASTA. is to: lead tourism development in through product development and marketing. By delivering on the theme of "an experience shaped by the sea", YASTA will develop and promote authentic experiences and products that tell the stories of Yarmouth & Acadian Shores.
The successful implementation of YASTA's mandate will result in regional tourism and economic growth. Specific factors used to measure the effectiveness of YASTA's efforts include:
- The number of room nights sold throughout Yarmouth & Acadian Shores
- Visitation to attractions and events throughout Yarmouth & Acadian Shores
- Responses generated through the annual YAS Visitor Satisfaction Survey
A Board of Directors has been drawn from throughout the region and includes tourism industry operators and municipal councillors. There are eight voting members on the board and four ex-officio members. Representation on the board is comprised of one councillor per municipality and one tourism operator nominated per municipality. The CAO's of each municipality will sit as ex-officio on the board.
