The longest golf season in Atlantic Canada
Whether you’re looking to perfect your game or simply learn how to swing, golfing in Southern Nova Scotia will fit you to a tee. Our mild winters mean that every year, our courses are the first to open and the last to close in Atlantic Canada. Treat yourself to a day spent on one of our top courses for under 40 dollars. Afterwards, join us for fine seafood and Acadian music to add the finishing touches to a great golfing experience.
The 18 hole Clare Golf and Country Club is also knows as “the Friendly Club.” The course opened in 1967 at the site of Jeremie Comeau’s farm. The development was overseen by Louis Gaudet, and although he had only played at two other courses (Digby Pines and Green Gables, PEI), Mr. Gaudet’s meticulous approach proved to be very successful as he was able to unleash the beauty of this farm landscape, overlooking St. Mary’s Bay.

Tucked into the southwest corner of the Province, this charming links-style layout offers a panoramic view of the local lighthouse and ocean. At first glance, the openness of the course leads one to believe that low scores are the norm. However, the rolling fairways, small lightning fast greens and unpredictable ocean breezes all combine to provide a true challenge for any golfer. The course is 18 holes.

The new executive course, opening summer 2010, is a small challenging gem in a park-like setting where you really can enjoy your game. The seven Par-3 are all different - some on the ocean, some with creeks and ponds. The two Par-4 are a dogleg left with a pond in front of the green, and a dogleg right with a narrow approach through a large stand of maple trees. Our greens are all bent grass and the practice green in front of our Lighthouse is ready and waiting for you.
