Le Musée des Acadiens des Pubnicos presents Debra Amirault Camelin

Debra Amirault Camelin is pleased to present Acadian Odyssey: The Return of Ange Amirault, the sequel to her first novel, Nathalie. Debra is an Acadian with ancestral roots in Pubnico and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.

It’s 1766 and after years of forced exile Ange Amirault returns to Nova Scotia with his young family. But what kind of life awaits the Acadians? This historical novel weaves the proud history of the Acadians with eighteenth-century events in an epic, deeply human drama.

“Vividly told through Ange’s eyes, readers discover what it means to come home. A richly crafted, deeply immersive portrait of a people staying course over sea, soil, and struggles — steadied by faith and family.”
— Caroline Pignat, Governor General’s Award Winner (2009 and 2015)

“A richly detailed, adventure-filled novel you’ll be eager to read and share.”
— Patrick D’Entremont, author of Acadian Shorelines
