Yarmouth Shark Scramble
The Yarmouth Shark Scramble is an annual event held in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Started in 1998 by Bob Gavel, hundreds of participants on over a dozen vessels compete each year to catch the largest shark. In 2004 a Canadian Record Shortfin Mako Shark was landed weighing in at 1083 lbs and measuring 11 ft 3”. A life-size Replica of this Canadian Record Shark will be placed on the Yarmouth Waterfront this summer and unveiled during the weigh-ins of the 2022 YSS Tournament.
Watch the exciting weigh-ins live and take in the action on Yarmouth’s waterfront. Awards are given for first, second and third place rankings for the longest blue shark.
